Herbal RX privacy policy
Last updated 15 August 2026 · Android, iOS, Windows and macOS
Herbal RX is published by Elevated Self (“we”). This policy applies to the Herbal RX apps for Android, iOS, Windows and macOS.
Short version
Herbal RX stores app data locally and does not run a backend. The app contains no accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking, or crash-reporting SDK, and no network code at all — it is bought once from the app store and everything after that works offline. It does not transmit favourites, notes, recently viewed herbs, the user's regimen record, or settings. Manual import and export happen only when the user chooses a file or share destination. Apple system backup may apply as described below.
The app offers one optional daily reminder for that regimen. It is off by default; permission to show notifications is requested only when the user switches it on, on either platform, and never at launch. The reminder is composed and scheduled on the device, nothing is sent anywhere, and its text is a count — “2 herbs still to take today” — never the name of a herb, so a lock screen discloses nothing about what the user takes.
Purchase
Herbal RX is a one-time paid app. The purchase is handled entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play before the app is installed, under those companies' own privacy policies. The app contains no in-app purchases, no subscription, and no billing code, so it never sees or handles payment details and never contacts a payment service.
What the app stores
- Appearance and first-launch disclaimer preferences
- Recently viewed herb identifiers
- Favourite herb identifiers
- Free-text notes entered for individual herbs
- The user's own regimen record: which herbs they have said they are taking, on which days, their own free-text dose note, and which doses they ticked off — kept for 90 days on the device
- Whether the optional daily reminder is switched on, and the time chosen for it
- Optional JSON or CSV exports saved to a destination the user selects
What the app does not collect or share
- No personal-data collection by Elevated Self
- No accounts or device identifiers
- No location, contacts, calendar, camera, microphone, or media access
- No advertising identifiers, analytics telemetry, or crash reports
- No sale or sharing of user data
Files and backups
The app uses system file pickers and share controls only when the user explicitly imports or exports a file. Android automatic backup is disabled. On iOS, local app data may be included in an encrypted device or iCloud backup according to the user's Apple backup settings. Elevated Self cannot access those backups. Users can manage or delete them through Apple.
Deleting data
Uninstalling Herbal RX removes its local app data. Users can export a copy before uninstalling or moving to another device. Elevated Self holds no server copy to delete.
Health information and medical disclaimer
Notes can contain health-related information chosen by the user. They remain in local app storage subject to the backup behavior above.
Herbal RX is written for clinicians, so one thing is worth stating plainly: the notes field is a personal aide-mémoire, not a patient record. It is not a medical-records system, carries no per-patient structure, and offers no access control beyond the device's own lock screen. Do not enter identifiable patient information into it; use your practice's record system, which is built for that and governed by the rules that apply to it.
Herbal RX is a professional reference, not a medical device, and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Users should consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
This app is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition.
Third-party content
The app bundles botanical photographs and source material under their applicable licence terms. Required source and licence attribution is displayed in the app. Opening a cited web link hands the URL to the user's browser; the browser's privacy policy then applies.
